KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY EQUINE EDUCATION FACILITY 250 ACRES MANHATTAN, KS The site is located on 250 acres of land on the north end of the Kansas State University Campus. We worked with the client to create a master plan that incorporates all the desires of the Animal Science department for a new equine facility. The site had an overall fall of 150 feet and it was critical both for cost savings and visual interest to fit the buildings into the natural contours of the site. Taking into account the variation in topography also create a reason to separate the buildings and create a campus or farm like layout of the buildings. Care was taken in the lay out to minimize cross over traffic from the variety of users. The complex was designed to evoke Kansas farm imagery while fitting into the Campus style of architecture. |
